Original “Serigraphy” Silkscreen Art Prints

The process of stencil craft printmaking has been perfected as I apply my personal sensitivity to social issues and design sensibility through a complex and systematic approach to image creation. The images shown here are limited edition hand printed art works and my attention to detail in the imagery reveals mastery of my medium.

I consider my self a colorist and each print contains from eight to twenty eight applications of individual colors printed through a silk screen. Expressive emotionally, each consecutive color overlay is warmed or cooled by custom hand blending each ink. The colors one after another are laid down over time through the screen onto cotton art papers by the pressure of a squeegee pressing the ink through knife cut stencils. Every small detail has been carefully drawn within the stencil and yields a sense of energetic and uniquely playful mark making.

While the visual style is unmistakable the themes in each range from abstractly interpretive moments of time, persons, space and place to more representational expressions of my personal experiences. Other prints use computer mediated photo processes, specialized resists and incorporate my writings as textual elements. I have emboldened these with a socially conscious voice and they become responsive to issues of our culture and express frustrations with our international escapades. Many prints are charged and assert themselves with a conceptual and visual afterglow, first insistent, only to fade slowly as a reminder of our humanity as room lights are withdrawn.

All of these works become permanent as artifacts of my thoughts and serve along with works in other mediums as a record of my existence.
